Daily Latin

Timor mortis morte pejor.

(The fear of death is worse than death itself.)

Medical intervention required

I took the day off today, to take my youngest baby to the vet.

He's been sneezing for a couple months now, but recently his nose has started dripping, and he's lost weight over the last few days.

So, today, I took the day off - we went to the vet.

It only cost $35.60 for the vet to violate Hammie with a thermometer, listen to his heart and lungs, and determine that my littlest one has a lung infection of indeterminable origin or severity. There's a vial of Baytril on the table now, .01 ccs of which my baby receives twice a day, for the next two weeks.

He really doesn't care for the taste of antibiotics.

In my immediate future, I see a trip to the grocery store for parsley and oranges, and maybe some of that nice, crunchy bok choy that the Basement Gang has recently decided that they like.

I'm so glad the prognosis is good.

How did it make you feel

being denied these Hungry, Hungry Hippos?

Lovin' the snark

I absolutely adore websites that make me feel better by ragging on celebrities.

Go Fug Yourself
Awful Plastic Surgery
The Superficial

And, last but not least (this really isn't the same thing, but similar):

Television Without Pity

So much fun.

Forensics

Interesting reading, or technological archaeology, if you will, regarding the real-or-not Bush memos.

I'm convinced. Or I'm emigrating. One of those.

Let me see that...

I'm sorry, but the thong will never go out of style.

And this is awesome.

Some people want it all

I have learned to make a *damn* good mocha.

What's in a name?

If you're finding me by Googling my name, would you please tell me *why* you're Googling my name?
